How Joylyn Discovered CHRP Philippines

When asked how she first came across the Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) program in the Philippines, Joylyn shared:

“During the pandemic, I found myself with more time to focus on professional development and updating my career profiles on LinkedIn and other platforms. It was during this period that I came across a post about the Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) program. The program equips HR professionals with standard and additional knowledge and skills, exactly what I wanted to achieve to grow in my career. Recognizing that obtaining this credential would be a significant step toward solidifying my expertise and commitment to the HR profession, I set it as a personal goal. Over time, I gathered the courage and determination to pursue the certification, fully aware that it would not only validate my experience but also open new opportunities for growth and contribution within the HR community.”

Why Joylyn Decided to Pursue CHRP Certification

On the question of what made her decide to pursue CHRP certification, she explained:

“I’ve always been passionate about continuously growing and evolving in my field. Pursuing the CHRP certification was a deliberate decision to deepen my understanding of HR beyond practical experience and to explore the latest theories, frameworks, and best practices that shape our profession today. It was an opportunity to challenge myself intellectually and reaffirm my commitment to being not just a practitioner, but a strategic partner who can contribute meaningfully to organizational success. The certification also offered a chance to connect with a broader community of HR professionals in the Philippines, enriching my perspective and inspiring me to bring fresh ideas and approaches into my work. Overall, it’s been a fulfilling journey that has reinforced my dedication to advancing the HR profession and supporting people and organizations in meaningful ways.”

Whether Mentorship or Experience Pushed Her Toward Certification

When asked if a mentor, colleague, or experience pushed her toward certification, Joylyn reflected:

“It was a personal decision driven by my own commitment to professional growth. While I didn’t have a specific mentor or colleague who encouraged me to take that step initially, I recognized early on the value the certification would bring to my career. Since earning the credential, I have been fortunate to receive strong support from my seniors and peers, especially in maintaining and renewing my certification each year. Their encouragement has reinforced the importance of staying current and continuously developing as an HR professional.”

The Career Goals Joylyn Aimed for at the Time

On the career goals she had in mind when pursuing CHRP, she said:

“My primary career goal was to establish myself as one of the senior HR professionals within a stable organization where I could make meaningful contributions to the company’s success and growth. I aspired to take on greater responsibilities and play a strategic role in shaping workplace culture and talent development. Additionally, I dreamed of working internationally, broadening my horizons, and gaining exposure to global HR practices. This aspiration was further inspired by motivational speakers I encountered at industry events, whose stories and insights encouraged me to pursue every opportunity to grow and eventually share my own experiences with others. Earning the CHRP certification was a crucial step toward achieving these goals, as it provided me with the knowledge, credibility, and confidence to advance in my career and prepare for future opportunities.”
