Discovering the CHRP Program

“I first came across the CHRP program through my search for network of HR and professional associations that emphasized the growing importance of HR certification for credibility and continuous learning. As a person, I never get tired of learning and expanding my horizon. I always keep myself relevant and was pursuing blue ocean strategy in my integrative field of accounting, IT, entrepreneurship, HR and OD. At that time, I was already handling capability-building programs, consulting engagements, coaching and mentoring sessions with clients in diverse industries and in competency-based/technology-driven environments, and the CHRP program stood out as a structured pathway to strengthen both the theoretical and applied aspects of HR practice in the Philippine context.”

Motivation for Pursuing CHRP Certification

“I decided to pursue CHRP certification because I wanted to formalize my multidisciplinary experience and deepen my understanding of HR as both a profession and a strategic discipline – from other HR experts. Coming from a background in accounting, IT, HR, OD, and industrial psychology, I saw CHRP as a bridge that could integrate my diverse expertise under a unified HR framework. It wasn’t just about earning a credential—it was about affirming my commitment to professional excellence and aligning my practice with global and ethical HR standards.”

Influence and Encouragement Along the Way

“Yes, but it was actually my brother who encouraged me to certified in my level of expertise – instead of pursuing a post-graduate degree, PhD in OD (which I still intend to pursue. I was also inspired by my mentor (in the field of architecture which made me love to embrace the architecture of competency management systems). My mentor modeled professionalism, integrity, and lifelong learning. One of my early experiences leading the HR of an IT division made me realize how essential it is to have both credibility and structure in HR practice. Their encouragement—and my own desire to strengthen my theoretical foundation—motivated me to pursue the CHRP certification as part of my professional growth journey.”

Career Goals at the Time

“At the time, my goal was to transition from being primarily a systems and process expert to integrating with me becoming a people and organizational development professional. I wanted to equip myself with the competencies to not only manage systems but also to develop people and shape culture. The CHRP certification aligned perfectly with that goal—it validated my competencies, expanded my professional network, and positioned me to take on greater roles as a trainer, consultant, HR strategist, Innovation and Competency Management System Architect.”

How CHRP Strengthened Her Career

“Becoming CHRP-certified gave my HR career a stronger professional identity and structure. It deepened my understanding of HR as both a strategic and developmental discipline, beyond the operational tasks. The certification validated my multidisciplinary experience—bridging technology, industrial psychology, and organizational development—and helped me articulate HR and OD decisions with greater clarity, evidence, and confidence. It also strengthened my credibility when working with diverse organizations and clients as a trainer and consultant.”

Opportunities That Opened After Certification

“Yes, the certification opened doors to more strategic engagement opportunities in HR and consulting. It enhanced my qualifications for leadership development programs, HR systems projects, and organizational capacity-building engagements. Being CHRP-certified also made me more visible and trusted in professional networks, leading to invitations to speak, train, and mentor in both the public and private sectors.”

Impact on Confidence, Knowledge, and Credibility

“CHRP gave me additional confidence to engage in high-level discussions about HR strategy, policy, and transformation. With Accounting as my undergraduate degree and HR & Values Development as my graduate degree, I aimed to further strengthen my HR -and CHRP indeed was one of the answers. It strengthened my theoretical foundation and expanded my practical toolkit for addressing real-world HR challenges. More importantly, it reinforced my credibility as a professional who not only practices HR but upholds its ethical and developmental principles in every context.”

How the CHRP Network Supported Her Development

“I got invited to speak, too for CHRP; however, my schedule was so tight then that I was not available in succeeding invitations. I do wish to be active in the CHRP community because I know it provides a platform to exchange ideas with fellow experts and practitioners, stay updated on emerging trends, and benchmark good practices.”

Practical Impact in Her Role

“CHRP helped me align my HR engagements more strategically with organizational goals. It gave me frameworks that I included in consulting and training. It also strengthened my capability to translate HR principles into actionable systems and policies that drive results.”

Influence on Strategic HR and Daily Operations

“Definitely. The CHRP program refined my perspective on balancing compliance and competence, ensuring that HR systems remain both robust, adaptive to change, and responsive to the organization.”

Applying CHRP Principles in Practice

“I apply CHRP principles by designing and facilitating programs that integrate learning, performance, HR management and development. Whether developing competency frameworks, conducting HRD audits, or mentoring leaders, I draw from CHRP’s structured approach to ensure that interventions are not only compliant but also strategic, ethical, and people-centered.”

Recommendation to Other HR Practitioners

“Absolutely. I always recommend the CHRP to my clients and mentees. The CHRP certification is more than a credential—it’s a professional journey that sharpens both the mind and the heart of an HR expert and practitioner. It equips you with frameworks, credibility, and a values-based mindset that prepares you to lead in an increasingly complex and human-centered world. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to elevate their practice and make a lasting impact in the HR profession.”
