Monica Mortega, CHRP®, SO3, MBA (cand.), is a versatile HR and administrative leader who currently serves as Assistant Office Manager (HR, Admin & Accounting) at Hashtag People Corporation. With a strong foundation in psychology and a growing expertise in business management, Monica exemplifies the balance of people-centered leadership and organizational strategy.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Metropolitan Medical Center–College of Arts, Science & Technology and is currently pursuing her MBA at Mapúa University in collaboration with Arizona State University, demonstrating her commitment to continuous academic and professional development.

Beyond her formal education, Monica has distinguished herself through certifications and awards, including her Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP®) credential under the International Federation of Professional Managers, her Safety Officer 3 Certification, and recognition as Best Employee Awardee (HR Department) in 2021 at ZX PRO Technology Corporation (OB). When asked how she first came across the Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) program, Monica shared:

“I discovered CHRP through professional HR groups on Facebook, where many shared their success stories and recommendations.”

What Motivated Her to Pursue CHRP Certification

On what made her decide to pursue CHRP, Monica explained:

“I wanted to strengthen my theoretical foundations in HR and gain structured credibility in the profession. It was a career investment aligned with my leadership goals.”

When asked if there was a mentor or specific experience that influenced her decision, she added: “No specific mentor encouraged me, it was a personal decision. I’ve always believed in continuous learning and professional growth, so I took the initiative to pursue the CHRP certification on my own to strengthen my foundation and credibility in the HR field.”

As for whether she had a career goal in mind when she enrolled in the program, Monica was clear:

“Yes, absolutely. One of my long-term goals is to establish my own HR consultancy in the future. Pursuing the CHRP certification was a strategic step toward building the expertise, credibility, and network I need to make that vision a reality.”
